General Information
Worth Abbey Parish is centred around the Benedictine Abbey at Worth in West Sussex.
The Parish consists of 4 village communities and Worth Abbey itself:
- The Abbey itself including all who live and work there and those
who worship there regularly.

Balcombe, a small village about 2 miles south of Worth.

Crawley Down, a much
larger village, some 2 miles north east of Worth
- Turners Hill, nearest village to Worth, about 1 mile east
-
West Hoathly, about 3 miles east of the Abbey.

Committees and Groups
- Parish Pastoral Council
- The PPC meets every two months. It is made up of the Parish clergy,
the Chair of the Finance Committee and eight elected members.who serve a two year term. Its
role is to provide advice and to be a forum where ideas can be discussed and
initiatives evaluated.
- Finance Committee
- The Finance Committee, meets five
times a year to consider the Parish's financial position.

- There are groups for the preparation for the sacrament of Baptism, First
Holy Communion and Reconciliation (this involves parents and children from
the age of eight) and Confirmation (from the age of fifteen). There is also
a Community choir which sings at the Abbey (contact George Fitzsimons tel:
01444 415557 ). To take part in other liturgical activities - reading, serving,
welcoming - contact Fr James above.
