Barn Dance at Crawley Down - 9th February 2008

This was a great success with a 100 people attending the event at the Haven Centre in Crawley Down. What was wonderful about the evening was that it brought together different ages, groups and areas of the Parish. It also raised £200 for Outreach Peru. Irundu Friendship Meeting - 21st November 2007
| About 75 parishioners turned out on this dark and stormy night to hear more about what is happening with our Irundu relationship. A 25-minute film was screened, including footage of the very colourful and lively liturgy as well as scenes of family life and work and interviews with the staff of local schools and the Bishop of Jinja, which is the local Diocese. DVD copies of the film are available for anyone who is able to offer a donation towards Irundu projects – please contact george.fitzsimons@ctcplc.com. |

Four of the recent visitors to Irundu then spoke enthusiastically of their impressions from the visit, emphasising the warmth of the welcome received, their confidence in Fr Stephen Mudoola, the parish priest, the significance of faith in the daily lives of the Irundu parishioners, the great involvement of the laity in church life there, how much we can learn and also the many opportunities we have to support and assist the local people. | ||

Fr
James presented the report which the visitors have written (you can find
a copy in the ‘News and Information’ section of this website) and
covered the main recommendations on developing the relationship through
spiritual and other sharing, education, health and economic development
projects. There were then a few questions and discussion, where some
good points were raised for the Committee to consider, not least how to
help more Worth parishioners to become involved. An information leaflet
on Irundu has been produced and was distributed at the meeting – copies
will be available for those who could not attend - and regular updates
will be given to the parish in future.
All in all, It was a very successful and informative evening and one which we hope to repeat. |

Parish Meeting Minutes - 02 June 2007
|
About 40 Parishioners attended this bi-annual Meeting. The accounts looked good for 2006 with an £11000 surplus to offset the £8000 deficit of the previous year. The improved situation was put down to the generosity of donations to the Parish. The reports showed that there is a healthy giving of time and expertise in many areas of Ministry in the Parish. While not being complacent (particularly when looking at some of our set-backs with Youth Ministry), there was a feeling that the Parish is progressing in the right direction. It was decided that an evening be arranged for help with the Sacrament of Reconciliation. The possibility of Stations of the Cross in Lent will be examined, as well as clergy input into House Groups. |
